about

To All Intents And Purposes
Or to paraphrase.....almost.
This is just a collection of noises inspired by thoughts as September melted into October 2021

1 - Dawning
The chord tapping idea came first on this but it took a while to settle on the timing. Once I had settled on that, I was able to start playing with textures and really dive into creating the soundscape.
I like that it's not a standard length loop as well. It all adds to the "Wash" of it.
I wanted to convey that sense of hope that comes from starting something new. Picking out specific notes in the lead line to harmonise certainly gave me that feeling as it was coming together.
This one comes from a good place.

2 - Solivagant
I've had this idea for a while and it really took it's time to reveal itself.
What started out as an ambient improvisation then started to really take shape and once I started playing around with the lead part, I fell head over heels for it.
It certainly took some effort and a lot of patience to create but it wouldn't allow me to rush any part of it. This is what started this little collection off.

3 - Dipping
I first developed this idea when I wrote "Ray Chasing" but I wasn't happy with where it was going.
Cue a few months down the line and I picked it back up, rewriting almost the entire thing around the original lead line.
